The number is your bust, in inches
Long kaftans come in 30, 42 and 50. The size is the to-fit bust in inches. Short kaftans are free size.
The cut is loose, so size down for a closer drape or up for full swing. The most reliable check: lay a kaftan you already own flat, measure it, and compare.
