Kaftan Guide

Three shapes, three fabrics, and a size system that is simpler than it looks. Here is everything in one place.

The three shapes

  • Long kaftan — full length, shoulder to ankle. 17 styles, ₹1,200–₹1,400.
  • Short kaftan — hip length, free size, the easiest everyday piece. 15 styles, from ₹950.
  • Kaftan set — kaftan with a matching bottom. 5 styles, ₹1,200–₹1,600.

Chiffon is sheer by nature — wear it with a slip or inner.

Sizing

Long kaftans and sets come in sizes 30, 42 and 50. The number is the to-fit bust in inches, not a dress size. Short kaftans are free size and fit most people comfortably.

The cut is relaxed, so size down for a closer drape and up for full swing. The easiest check: measure a kaftan or kurta you already love, lay it flat, and compare. Other sizes are available on request.

Embroidery

  • Aari-style — flowing chain-stitch florals that sit slightly raised on the cloth
  • Tilla-style — metallic gold or silver thread, festive and dressy
  • Hand Sozni — a small made-to-order range, hand-embroidered. Ask us on WhatsApp.

Both Aari-style and Tilla-style are machine-worked in the traditional Kashmiri pattern.

Care

  • Cold wash, gentle cycle or by hand
  • No bleach
  • Iron inside out, avoiding the embroidery
  • Dry in shade to protect the colour
