How to wear a kaftan
A few easy ways to wear each shape — from the house to a wedding.
Long kaftan
On its own, barefoot or with soft slippers. Nothing else needed.
Belt it loosely at the waist with a fabric sash, add flat sandals and a tote.
Statement earrings, keep the neckline clear so the embroidery shows, and heeled sandals.
Layer a long cardigan or a shawl over the top.
Short kaftan
Straight or wide-leg denim and white trainers — the easiest everyday look.
Loose palazzo trousers in a matching or neutral tone for a relaxed ethnic look.
Plain leggings and juttis for running errands or travel.
Over swimwear, with sandals and a straw hat.
Kaftan set
Worn together, it looks finished with almost no effort — add juttis or block heels.
Wear the kaftan with jeans or a different bottom.
Pair the trousers with a plain kurta or shirt.
